Information about the bill: House Bill 2357 was introduced following incredible reporting by the Oregonian and OPB, where we learned that Oregon Forest Resources Institute (OFRI), a public body created to educate people about forestry, was being used by the timber industry to fight leading scientific research on forests and climate change. The amended bill reforms OFRI and dedicates critical resources to help small woodland owners manage their properties and to fund important investments in climate science and modern forest rules.
