Create Your Legacy
Protecting strongholds for wild salmon and steelhead requires a long-term, multigenerational commitment. Including a gift to WSC in your plans for the future is an easy way to ensure that, no matter what lies ahead, our most remarkable wild salmon rivers have strong champions for years to come. Here are some ways to create a legacy of free-flowing rivers, vast forests, and abundant fish with a legacy gift to WSC.
Bequests
Provide for a specific dollar amount—or a percentage of your estate—to WSC in your will or living trust. This could come directly to WSC or arrive as a remainder of your estate once loved ones are provided for.
Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs)
Name WSC as the eventual beneficiary of your CRT, while you receive tax benefits and annual payments during your lifetime.
Life Insurance & Retirement Plan Designations
Choose WSC as the sole or partial beneficiary of your life insurance policy, IRA, or other retirement account using your plan’s beneficiary designation form. Simply contact your plan administrator.
Endowment Gifts
WSC has established an endowment fund to provide permanent support for the conservation of stronghold rivers, including named funds. Contact us at (971) 255-5562 to learn more.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF) Designations
If you have a DAF, you can add WSC as a charitable beneficiary for the remainder of your fund once grants are no longer being dispersed.

Mitch & Elizabeth Siegler: A Legacy of Salmon Strongholds
Mitch and Elizabeth Siegler decided to include Wild Salmon Center in their estate plans to help ensure that conservation efforts are sustained into the future.
“The need for Wild Salmon Center’s work will continue for some time, and like the twists and turns of a river, there will be different challenges 10 to 20 years from now,” Mitch Siegler says. “Setting the stage for continuity and permanence through our bequest helps Wild Salmon Center think more strategically, and in longer-term fashion, to continue to thrive and fight the battles likely to present themselves in the future.”
