Corporate Spotlight: KEEN

KEEN Footwear puts its values in motion by working with nonprofit partners, consciously constructing its products, providing grant funding to grassroots organizations, and activating communities and individuals to protect the places where they work and play through the company’s ‘Call to Action’ platform. And the numbers don’t lie: since the company’s founding in 2003, they’ve donated over $18 million in cash and product to individuals and organizations making a difference in their communities.

This spring, KEEN stepped up to support Wild Salmon Center’s first-ever Earth Day Oregon campaign, donating 15% of both Portland and Palo Alto stores’ sales to our conservation work.

KEEN also doubled down by adding WSC to their action platform. You can find two of WSC’s campaigns featured in KEEN’s Call-to-Action in-store phone booths and its online directory. KEEN customers can directly call the governor’s office and advocate for the designation of Oregon’s Nehalem River as a State Scenic Waterway, and get connected with their state Representatives to defend Alaska’s Bristol Bay from the proposed Pebble Mine.

The combination of our business voice, the nonprofit community, and our fans’ constant pressure, endlessly applied is what gets these conservation goals across the finish line.”

“We are incredibly proud of our partnership with Wild Salmon Center and their work protecting salmon strongholds,” says Kirk Richardson of KEEN’s Corporate Social Responsibility department. “The combination of our business voice, the nonprofit community, and our fans’ constant pressure, endlessly applied is what gets these conservation goals across the finish line. It’s our collective responsibility.”
