Privacy Policy

Wild Salmon Center (WSC) is committed to protecting the personal information collected from our donors, partners, people who sign up for our newsletter and employees. Your privacy matters to us.

Information WSC collects and how it is used

Wild Salmon Center will never sell, trade, rent, or share our users or donors names, e-mail/mail addresses, or telephone numbers to other organizations or individuals at any time, nor will we send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations without the user or donor’s explicit consent. We will use contact information (e-mail, telephone number and/or address) for the following purposes only:

  • Acknowledgement of donor gifts and distribution of receipt for donations.
  • Communicating and marketing with newsletter sign ups, donors, partners, and employees about news, events fundraising appeals, and other activities of WSC.
  • Internal record keeping and analysis.

WSC’s website contains the following electronic forms where you may choose to provide your personal information:

  • Donation forms
  • Email newsletter sign up forms
  • Petitions or other relevant advocacy forms

WSC’s donation forms require users to provide contact information that includes: name, mailing address, telephone number, email address and credit card information. Our newsletter and advocacy forms require users to provide contact information as well, including name, mailing address, and email address.

While Tax law requires WSC to keep records of contact information and donation amounts on file, we do not store sensitive information from donors such as credit card numbers.

Donors have the option to be publicly listed as a donor unless they explicitly choose the “anonymous” field when donating via WSC’s online donation form or communicating (written or verbal) their request to WSC or a WSC employee. Unless a donor explicitly indicates that their gift is “anonymous”, WSC staff and volunteers will assume the names of donors may be publicly included in Wild Salmon Center’s Annual Report publication.

Access to donor information is password protected and limited to specific WSC employees or volunteers who need to know such information in order to fulfill our mission. These employees or volunteers are required to sign a confidentiality agreement before accessing any donor information. Safeguards are in place to ensure the privacy of the data is maintained and that the information stored is not disclosed or shared for any purposes other than to fulfill WSC’s mission.

Credit card processing

Wild Salmon Center processes all credit card donations safely and securely through Blackbaud. Blackbaud has validated compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS). All personal and credit card information is encrypted and tokenized during each transaction to ensure your personal information is kept secure.

Electronically Gathered Information

Wild Salmon Center analyzes non-personally identifiable information to monitor which areas of our website are best performing (e.g., through visitor IP addresses, log files, and/or cookies). This non-personally identifiable information is internally reviewed so we can analyze and respond to trends over time, optimize web performance and content deliverability.
